Occupational Therapy For Adults
Occupational therapists can also work with adults, with various conditions. These can include those who have a disability, have experienced a stroke or brain injury, are an amputee or who have a mental health condition. We are trained to assess your skills, environments and identify the occupations you participate in. We can support your participation and enjoyment of your self-care tasks (e.g. dressing), duties at home (e.g. cleaning or meal preparation), your work requirements (e.g. using a computer) and your leisure activities.
Essentially, occupational therapists are improving your quality of life through support and task or environmental modification. OTs can assist you to increase your fine motor skills, upper and lower body motor/co-ordination skills, memory/processing skills, falls prevention measures and energy conservation.
